TB can affect almost any part of the body and therefore symptoms are extremely varied.
The most common symptoms include:
- Cough - lasting for more than 3 weeks
- Coughing up coloured sputum for more than 3 weeks
- Coughing up blood
- Fever
- Drenching sweats - particularly at night
- Loss of appetite
- Unexplained weight loss
- Fatigue.
Enlarged lymph glands can result from lymph node tuberculosis and can occur without any other symptoms.
